I thought at the tender age of 45 I may be too old to learn piano, Phil at Staves soon put my mind at rest, with his very relaxed manner and his wonderful teaching skills I was soon on my way. Without Phil and Staves there is no way I would have passed my Grade 1 piano exam in less than 12 months.

Done only 4 lessons on Guitar and have learnt more in past month than over the last 14 months! I can’t recommend enough. Friendly, relaxed and knowledgeable. I look forward to Saturday mornings and my chill out lesson. Thanks guys keep it up.

Staves is a lovable community, the people there are so nice (though I know just one person; Jack.) He’s an amazing drumming teacher who has made me progress quicker than any other drum teacher in my past, I understand more and I enjoy it more with a teacher like Jack. He also understands me and my capabilities, he knows when to make me progress, and when to take a different approach which over-all makes me progress with ease. Overall it’s astounding results over a short period of time no matter what instrument you play because even before lessons I hear about other people’s tutors telling their parent/ guardian how good they are, this really makes going all the more enjoyable because of the people there. Don’t hesitate go there ASAP and you won’t regret. They also have a wide variety of lessons including drums, guitar, saxophone, music theory, singing, piano and more. Thank you STAVES!

‘I chose Staves because they are situated in my local area. Everyone I have met there is extremely friendly and polite. The lessons are structured and given by friendly and professional young tutors, and have enabled me to achieve a standard far beyond my expectations in only 2 months!
I would point out that I’m a mature student and had no previous experience of woodwind instruments but am now able to produce many a decent tune! Thank you Staves.

I started guitar lessons at Staves 2 years ago as a complete beginner. Since then I’ve passed my Grade 1 with a Distinction and my Grade 2 with a merit. I’ve also learnt that playing a musical instrument is a great social skill as you can get involved with bands etc.
Lessons are great as well as fun, I couldn’t think of a better place to learn how to play an instrument.

I have been going to drumming lessons for over a year and they have helped me get up to taking my Grade 4 exam soon. Jack has been a great, he’s helped me through my book and if I pass the exam I would have to give it to him.  Staves is amazing and I am going to tell my friends about it!

I’ve only recently started singing lessons but i have had great advice throughout coming and it has helped to develop me as a singer in a short time. I also enjoy being able to use the microphone and learn new songs 🙂

Been having guitar lessons with Mark and drums with Jack for ages. They are both great teachers and we get lots of things done in the lessons. If anyone is looking to learn music Staves is the place to go!

Been having electric guitar lessons with Karl since November! He’s a great, fun teacher! Staves was recommended to my Dad by a work colleague, so we thought we’d give it a try after not making much progress with previous teachers! Karl is really friendly, I always look forward to my lessons and I get a say in what I’d like to play and learn! Best teacher I’ve had, all tutors are helpful. Most of all, I’m making great progress!
